For this project, our group was tasked designing an implement for a local park in Columbus. Our goal was to create something that combined physical and intellectual elements of play into a unique adaptation of the car carpets that were popular in the 90's and early 2000's.
We achieved this by sizing it up to be something that could exist comfortably in a large outdoor space, and adding a modular concept to it that allowed the pieces of road to be turned to create new paths and areas across the map. These were then connected to our educational element by connecting trivia questions and answers relating to Columbus and the park area and its history. Below are photos of a small scale model, as well as a full scale prototype. For our large scale, we used letters as place holders for our questions since we didn't have them entirely solidified.
